Jerry Kykisz
In 1969, I took my first photographs in Vietnam & Japan, both countries were a visual paradise for the exotic and erotic. Some two decades later, my first exhibit at ARC Gallery in Chicago, made an artist out of me. In the last two decades, as one of the founding members of the National Vietnam Veterans Art Museum, I've had more than my fair share of group shows and enough exhibit openings around the country to last a lifetime. Jerry is a founding member of A Touching Tribute: The Long War Memorial and this Art by First Responders Initiative.

Michelle Schoenecker
Michelle Schoenecker’s lifelong passion is writing and editing. She currently is a proposal development manager at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and holds a Master’s degree in English with a specialization in professional and technical writing. When she is not editing scientific proposals, manuscripts, and book chapters in her spare time, she dabbles in creative writing and poetry, and plotting a novel she hopes to publish. As a firefighter’s spouse, Michelle has used creative writing as a way to process and cope with the challenges of a loved with first-responder PTSD, and she hopes to help others who find themselves on this same journey.
